The Ridgeway in late summer

It was very warm yesterday and even sunny. (Dear weather, when you put on the thunderstorm today, did you know that I had planned to go to outdoor archery practice in the morning? Oh well.) The trees on the Ashridge Estate now have just a hint of autumnal colours. The fields were golden and the bales of straw created interesting shapes and textures in the landscape. The sheep seemed content in the fields. Ivinghoe Beacon was crowded. (Moral: avoid Saturday afternoons on Ivinghoe Beacon.)
